I’m hoping my uncle is going to spray it for me, maybe purple. I’ve decided on some beads on the spokes (like you would get on a bike) and i think i’m going to cover the seat cushion in a different material.
Does anyone have any other ideas for the wheels? Or, just something you have done/something you think would be pretty funky.

I am fifteen and have muscular dystrophy. I can move pretty much all my muscles just fine, but I’m weak and stiff and can’t stand up without help. My old powered scooter has broken, and I need a powered wheelchair that is:
-easily transported (folding chair absolutely preferred)
-not binding
-can go in the grass and dirt without getting stuck
-has removable armrests and footrests, or they swing completely out of the way easily
-leather seated, or not too cushioned
-not too close to the ground (I’m short, and I don’t mind my feet dangling a bit. I can’t get up if it’s too close to the ground)
-pretty fast (max speed 6mph+ )
-..and here’s the kicker, I’d love for it to have a lifting seat that can help me stand up. This is where I’ve had problems, I can’t find one that will do this.
It’s ok if it doesn’t meet all the criteria. Basically, I like the feel of a normal, manual chair, but it’s powered, and can lift. Please give me links to or brands of ones you think I might like. Thank you!!

and does anything she wants to do when she wants to do it. The problem is, she can’t get insurance. She receives a survivor’s benefit from ssi, because my father was killed, so that disqualifies her from disability. Every insurance firm turns her down because she makes a mere 2.00 more than she should.
Her wheelchair is 8 years old. She’s starting to get drop foot because her feet dont sit right in it. The gel cushion for her behind is busted. Her tires have absolutely no tread left. She cannot afford a new chair, due to medical expenses for my diabetic brother.
My husband and I would like to hold a benefit to raise money for a new chair. I don’t even know how to go about it. Any ideas? Any at all. Thank you!

cushion on wheelchair has rubber linning but holds a putrid smell

Hi,My group is doing a Mechanical Eng. project on wheelchair.What is the materials used for the wheelchair frame and the cushion cover,upholstery etc.Which is the best website to go to look for the materials,price…etc.Please help ,must submit in 4 weeks time…yyeeiikkss!!

I’ve had a Permobil C500 wheelchair with the corpus seating for the past two years. For several months now I have been getting pain in my tailbone. I have some people recommend either a Roho cushion or Jay cushion. Both are expensive and to my surprise both companies offer about 20 different cushions. I’d like to hear the opinion of some end users.
